Mild earthquake strikes south of Sumatra, no tsunami threat to Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale struck southern Sumatra at 8.40pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
