BI to raise presence in Siargao due to rise in crimes involving tourists

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has ordered an increase in the presence of immigration officers in Siargao to strictly monitor and respond to complaints of violations of laws involving immigrants and tourists. BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado met with local government officials and law enforcement agencies on Friday to discuss the concerns on public order, immigration and tourism in Siargao.
